How to Safeguard Your Company Ideas from Federal Government Contracts

When it comes to your intellectual property and the submission of government proposals, it is important to consider the fact that your ideas and future programming can be taken by the government department you are attempting to secure funding from. As someone who has written grant proposals for nearly twenty years, I can personally attest to the fact that my IP has been compromised on numerous occasions in the past by other non-profit entities taking my program concepts, language and more as their own. 

When you are applying for funding to a government agency like the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) the benefit to the partnership is endless.  However, there are certain considerations that you need to think about prior to moving forward when it comes to your entity’s intellectual property.
